Isabela Thoburn College Economic Review

The inauguration of the academic journal Isabella Thoburn College Economic Review by the Post Graduate Department of Economics, on 27 September 2014; turned out to be a grand successful event. A workshop entitled REFLECTIONS ON ECONOMIC ISSUES: A MARCH AHEAD was also organized on this occasion.it was held under the aegis of ITCEF,(Isabella Thoburn college economic forum) a brainchild of Principal ,faculty and students, came up with the celebrations of the release of their first academic journal.

The event started with the registration procedures, followed by the prayers and welcome by the Principal Dr. (Mrs.) V. Prakash and department incharge Dr. Anupma Srivastava.

The programme started with the Lightening of the traditional college lamp, followed by the patron’s address, Dr. (Mrs.) E.S.Charles. The Chief guest was-Mr. Arvind Narayan Mishra,Secretary Higher Education Department,Govt. of Uttar Pradesh who emphasied that students should relate their theoretical knowledge in a practical way to make the better understanding of the subject ; Guest of Honour-Prof. Khan Masood Ahmed, Vice Chancellor, Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti Urdu Arabic Farsi University foccused on creating endowment of journal; Special Guest-Mr. K.K. Gupta- Chief Regional Manager (NABARD) said that we need to focus on rural and agricultural scenario and key note speaker Arvind Awasthi head department of economics lucknow university spoke on macro-economic theory and policy for global and Indian efficiency.They all congratulated the head of the department Dr. A Srivastava as well as the faculty and student volunteers for their efforts.

Then the departmental activities and the theme of the journal was introduced. The programme ended with the vote of thanks given by the Assistant Co-coordinator Mrs R.Khosla.

After the tea break session II started with the response of the guests, sponsors, chief editor and the co-editors of the journal. Ms. Amita Marwha and Dr. Kavita Bhatnagar shared their thoughts of their journey and the student editors of the journal also spoke of their experiences.

Announcement of the next issue and subscription rates were given by Mrs. P Sharma.

Lunch was followed by Third Session of the event which entailed sponsor’s presentation.

The president and the principal of the college were immensely proud by the combined efforts of teachers and students of Department of Economics.

And as we say Hard work always ends with Huge success.
