National Conference on “Nutrition and Health : Issue and Challenges in the Global Perspective” 27th and 28th March, 2015

Isabella Thoburn College, Lucknow, Department of Nutrition/Home Science organized a National Conference on “Nutrition and Health: Issue and Challenges in the Global Perspective” on 27th and 28th March, 2015, sponsored by UPSHEC.

Dr. R. P. S. Yadav, Additional Secretary, U.P. State Higher Education Council, Lucknow, was the Chief Guest at the inaugural function of the conference on 27th March at 10:00 am. Principal Dr. Vinita Prakash released the conference Souvenir.Prof. Dr. (Mrs.) Kanta K. Sharma, the first Indian woman with Ph.D. in nutrition was the keynote speaker.

The invited speakers, Dr. Sudhir Mehrotra, presented his views on “Protein Calorie Malnutrition”. He discussed the reasons for those suffering from malnutrition. Dr. Suryakant spread awareness about “Tuberculosis and Nutrition”, and discussed about the impact of tuberculosis on nutrition, and nutrition on tuberculosis. Papers were presented by participated from various Universities, Institutes and Colleges.

The Joint-Organizing secretary, Dr. (Maj.) Neerja Masih presented the conference report in detail about the conference objective, invited lectures, paper presentations and outcome of the conference.
The Organizing Secretary, Mrs. Neelam Kumari, thanked the President, Principal, Chief guest and all eminent scientists, speakers and the participants who contributed immensely in making this conference a great success.
