On July 9, 2025, our college proudly took part in a deeply meaningful and inspiring campaign –
‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ – an initiative launched across Uttar Pradesh by Hon’ble Chief Minister
Yogi Adityanath, in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for a greener, more
sustainable India.
This wasn't just about planting trees. It was about love, responsibility, and honoring the one who
gave us life – our mothers – by giving life back to the planet.
A Mission That United Us All: As part of the state wide plantation drive, a large number of
saplings were planted in a single day across Uttar Pradesh. And we at Isabella Thoburn College
(Professional Studies) did our part with great enthusiasm and pride.
Our day began early — the morning sun rising as students, teachers, staff, and volunteers
gathered with saplings in hand and smiles on their faces, focused on trees like Ashok,
Harshingar, Mehendi, and other native species known for their beauty and medicinal value. We
all took photograph with our sapling, tagging them proudly with Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.
Respected CM Yogi Adityanath’s words echoed in our hearts as we worked: “Let’s plant trees
along roads, in public spaces, and protect them like family. Let’s make July 9 a day to
remember.”
And we did. With laughter, teamwork, and a shared purpose, every sapling we planted became a
promise — to protect, to nurture, and to give back.
This was not a one-day event. It’s the beginning of a journey. Each sapling we planted is now
part of our college family. We’ve set up a monitoring plan to water and protect them regularly
and will track their growth in the coming months. We thank everyone- student, faculty member,
and staff who showed up — sweaty, muddy, smiling and made a difference. We didn’t just plant
trees. We planted hope.
