The CIMAP (Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants) farmers’ visit was an enlightening experience, for the students and faculty of Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies), Lucknow fostering a deep appreciation for the importance of medicinal and aromatic plants in agriculture. Set amidst lush greenery and fragrant gardens, the visit provided a firsthand glimpse into the cultivation, processing, and utilization of a diverse range of botanical treasures. Farmers were guided through the institute’s research facilities, where they learned about innovative farming techniques, sustainable practices, and the latest advancements in herbal medicine production. Engaging seminars and interactive workshops offered valuable insights into crop management, soil health, and market opportunities, empowering farmers with knowledge and resources to enhance their agricultural practices. The visit concluded with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and determination, as farmers departed inspired to integrate newfound wisdom into their farming endeavors, thereby contributing to the growth and prosperity of the agricultural sector.

The “Classroom to Boardroom” entrepreneurship program lecture by Prof. Meera Singh aimed at provide students with fundamental knowledge and skills necessary for navigating the entrepreneurial world. Through the lectures, and interactive activities, participants learned about idea generation, market research, and business model development. They explored concepts such as problem-solution fit and product-market fit, aligning their offerings with customer needs. Practical experiences, including simulations and business plan competitions, allowed students to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world scenarios, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving abilities. Furthermore, Prof. Meera shared with the students the recent initative that she has help students with is starting a start-up and their success stories.
Overall the students enjoyed learning about the entrepreneurial ventures and shared their own ideas and queries. The lecture was took place on 21st December, 2023 at Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies) premises.

Achieving problem-solution fit and product-market fit are pivotal milestones for any entrepreneurial endeavor. Problem-solution fit entails identifying and understanding a specific pain point or need within the target market and developing a solution that effectively addresses it.
Keeping this in mind, Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies) Organized a Guest Lecture Lead By Mr. Abid Zaidi. The session ensured to focus on the Choices, Critical Thinking, initial alignment that the product or service resonates with customers and genuinely solves a real problem. Subsequently, product-market fit involves validating the product’s acceptance and scalability within the broader market. It signifies the optimal alignment between what the product offers and the demands of the market, resulting in widespread adoption and sustained growth. Both problem-solution fit and product-market fit are iterative processes, requiring constant feedback, adaptation, and a keen understanding of customer needs to create a sustainable and successful business model.
The Interactive session ensured spark curiosity and interest of students wanting them to learn more.

Extempore Competition – Financial Awareness and Women Empowerment


Isabella Thoburn College in collaboration with UCO Bank organized an Extempore competition for the students on the Topic “Financial Awareness and Women Empowerment” the reason being that Extempore speaking is crucial in financial awareness and women empowerment, allowing individuals, especially women, to spontaneously express their understanding of economic concepts. This skill is essential in financial literacy programs, enabling confident articulation of financial goals. It facilitates prompt responses to economic queries, fostering a deeper comprehension of personal finance. In professional contexts, particularly job interviews and business meetings, extemporaneous communication becomes a valuable asset for women seeking career advancement. Additionally, it contributes to inclusivity and gender equality by empowering women to actively participate in financial discussions and challenge stereotypes. This skill serves as a powerful tool for advocating women’s financial rights and addressing issues such as wage gaps and financial planning, fostering a more empowered and informed society.

Annual Christmas Party


The air was filled with merriment and cheer as students gathered under a canopy of twinkling lights at the annual Christmas party. Hosted in Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies) premises adorned with elegant decorations, the atmosphere was alive with the spirit of the season. Laughter and chatter echoed as students and faculty mingled, savoring delicious festive delights and indulging in signature bonfire event. The sound of carols sung by choir filled the air, adding to the enchanting ambiance. From a beautifully adorned Christmas tree to a roaring fireplace casting a warm glow, every detail exuded warmth and hospitality. Students enjoyed the food and goodies. It was a truly magical celebration, where the magic of Christmas brought together loved ones in an unforgettable evening of happiness and goodwill.


Excursion Trip: Sigri-Nanital-Jim Corbett


The excursion trip to Sigri, Nainital, and Jim Corbett was an unforgettable journey filled with breathtaking landscapes and thrilling adventures. Beginning in Sigri, nestled amidst the picturesque hills, the studnets and Facult of Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies), Lucknonw embarked on serene nature walks, immersing ourselves in the tranquil beauty of the surroundings. As we journeyed to Nainital, the shimmering lakes and lush forests captivated our senses, offering opportunities for boating and exploration of the charming hill town. The highlight of our trip was the exhilarating safari in Jim Corbett National Park, where we encountered majestic wildlife in their natural habitat, including the elusive Bengal tiger. Guided by experienced naturalists, we marveled at the diverse flora and fauna, gaining a newfound appreciation for conservation efforts. Each destination left an indelible mark on our hearts, igniting a sense of wonder and reverence for the natural world, and fostering cherished memories that will last a lifetime.


Induction Program


The college induction program serves as a pivotal initiation for new students, marking the beginning of their educational journey in an institution. Designed to acclimate newcomers to the college environment, it offers a comprehensive introduction to campus life, academic expectations, and support services available. Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies), Lucknow organized its Orientation Program from 7th-9th October, 2024. Through a series of informative sessions, interactive talks, and engaging activities, students were guided through the various aspects of college culture, resources, and opportunities. The orientation program fostered a sense of belonging and camaraderie among peers, as well as establishes connections with faculty and staff who are dedicated to facilitating their success. It also emphasizes the importance of academic integrity, personal development, and involvement in extracurricular activities. By the end of the program, students emerge equipped with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to navigate their college experience with enthusiasm and purpose.




Book Fair visit


Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies)organised a visit to Gomti Riverfront Book Fair, an enchanting literary extravaganza nestled along the banks of the serene Gomti River. As I strolled through the vibrant stalls adorned with colorful banners and fluttering flags, captivated by the palpable energy of book lovers and enthusiasts engrossed in their literary pursuits. The ambiance was infectious, with the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingling with the scent of new books. The fair boasted a diverse array of genres, from classic literature to contemporary fiction, non-fiction to poetry, catering to every reader’s taste. Engaging discussions, author signings, and poetry recitals added a layer of intellectual stimulation to the event, fostering a sense of community among attendees. Amidst the bustling crowds, was a solace in the pages of a novel, immersing in the magic of storytelling while the tranquil river flowed beside, a silent witness to the timeless joy of reading. The students shared that the Gomti Riverfront Book Fair was truly an enriching experience, reaffirming the profound impact of literature in shaping our lives.


No Fire Cooking


The “No Fire Cooking Event” organised for the MBA was a delightful and innovative culinary experience that showcased the creativity and ingenuity of participants in preparing delicious dishes without the use of conventional heat sources. Held in a scenic outdoor setting, the event brought together aspiring chefs and food enthusiasts eager to explore alternative cooking methods. From refreshing salads and sandwiches to delectable desserts and snacks, participants crafted an array of flavorful dishes using techniques such as marinating, mixing, and chilling. With an emphasis on freshness and sustainability, ingredients sourced locally and organically added a wholesome touch to the culinary creations. The event fostered a spirit of collaboration and experimentation as participants exchanged tips and recipes, inspiring one another to embrace the versatility of no-fire cooking. As the sun set on the horizon, participants gathered around communal tables to savor their culinary masterpieces, sharing laughter and camaraderie in a celebration of culinary creativity and innovation.





Energy Literacy Training


Participants seeking a thorough understanding of energy-related issues found September 25, 2023, Energy Swaraj Foundation energy literacy workshop to be a transforming experience. The first part of the course covered energy generation and use in detail, explaining the various sources that fuel our daily lives. Participants developed a greater understanding of how their unique behaviours affect total consumption as a result of gaining insightful knowledge about their own energy usage patterns. The environmental effects of energy-related activities were heavily emphasised, educating participants about how these practices contribute to pollution and climate change. Participants were given concrete methods to reduce inefficient activities and increase efficiency as a result of the sharing of practical energy saving strategies. Additionally, the instruction covered alternative and creating a lively atmosphere for learning. All things considered, the course not only gave participants information about energy but also motivated them to make wise decisions that would lead to a more ecologically friendly and sustainable way of living.





Passport to Earning (P2E)


UNICEF and Generation Unlimited have partnered to create the Passport to Earning initiative, a flagship e-learning programme that equips youth with critical 21st-century skills and links them to a variety of opportunities including jobs, apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, internships, and social impact projects. The programme acknowledges the value of putting money into the knowledge and skills of young people in order to help them effectively navigate uncertainty by developing their capacity for critical thought, problem-solving, judgment, and financial management.
This online course, “Passport to Earning,” began on October 10, 2023, and had active participation from Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies) students. Over the course of the 24-hour programme, a variety of subjects designed to improve students’ financial and digital literacy. After finishing the course and the examinations successfully, the participants received an electronic certificate. In addition to giving the students useful skills, this programme supports larger initiatives to get the next generation ready for a changing and dynamic global environment and ensures they are successful both personally and professionally.








Badminton Bash


Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies) hosted the Badminton Bash Activity (MBA V/S B.COM) on October 14, 2023. Badminton, an indoor sport regulated by the Badminton World Federation (BWF), is known for its energetic gameplay using lightweight rackets and shuttlecocks. The game, accommodating one or two players per side with simple rules, offers various health benefits for students.
Regular participation in badminton enhances muscle strength, promoting overall fitness. The continuous movements and hits in the game strengthen heart muscles, improve blood flow, lower cholesterol levels, and reduce the risk of heart attacks or strokes. Additionally, badminton serves as a healthy stress-relieving activity, contributing to the reduction of stress hormones.
Engaging in daily badminton matches also lowers the risk of bone fractures. The dynamic back-and-forth movements of hands, legs, and arms foster the development of a calcium matrix in bones, fortifying bone strength. Furthermore, the sport encourages social interaction, as it is played in pairs or teams of four, fostering healthy competition and positive social relationships.
Beyond physical benefits, badminton aids in diabetes management. The intense physical activity involved helps regulate sugar production, decreasing fasting blood sugar levels and promoting overall metabolic health. Embracing badminton as a regular activity not only contributes to physical well-being but also nurtures camaraderie and competition among participants, offering a holistic approach to maintaining a healthy and active lifestyle.


Kho Kho Extravaganza: Unleashing the Spirit of Speed and Strategy


Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies) organized the Kho Kho Clash Event (MBA V/S B.COM) on October 15, 2023. Kho Kho, a traditional Indian tag game, is governed by dynamic rules that involve speed and strategy. Played with enthusiasm, this outdoor sport requires agility and teamwork, making it a thrilling experience for participants. The game involves two teams, each with twelve players, and is known for its rapid-paced nature, fostering a sense of camaraderie and competition among the players.
Regular participation in Kho Kho also contributes to bone health. The quick turns, dodges, and sprints involved in the game stimulate the development of a robust calcium matrix in bones, fortifying bone strength and reducing the risk of fractures. Moreover, the team-oriented nature of Kho Kho encourages social interaction, fostering positive relationships and teamwork.
In addition to its physical benefits, Kho Kho supports overall well-being by promoting mental alertness and strategic thinking. The dynamic nature of the game requires quick decision-making, enhancing cognitive skills among participants.

Cricket Practice And Learning Session


On the 28th of October, 2023, Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies) orchestrated a cricket practice and learning session. Cricket stands out as an excellent sport for cultivating comprehensive fitness, endurance, stamina, physical fitness, balance, and coordination, along with enhancing hand-eye coordination. Beyond its physical advantages, cricket opens avenues for various other benefits and opportunities:
Team Skills: Cricket fosters the development of crucial team skills, promoting cooperation, unity, and effective collaboration among players.
Social Skills: The sport encourages the acquisition of social skills such as effective communication and the ability to navigate the dynamics of winning and losing gracefully.
Social Interaction: Cricket serves as a fantastic platform for social interaction, facilitating the opportunity to meet new people and forge lasting friendships.
Recognizing the diverse benefits that cricket offers, Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies) took the initiative to organize the cricket practice and learning session. Essay Writing


The essay writing competition on the theme “Unity is Strength” was held in celebration of Unity Day, commemorating the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel. The essence of “Unity is Strength” lies in remaining united in every circumstance, holding significant value in all aspects of life. When individuals come together, they can overcome challenges and achieve shared goals. The progress of society and the nation hinges on this collective spirit, emphasizing the ability to stay cohesive and collaborate for a common objective. This essay explores the significance of unity in our society, highlighting its role in overcoming divisions and working together as a cohesive unit. The timeless saying “Unity is strength” underscores the idea that collective effort is more potent than individual endeavors.







IDP Visit


The visit to IDP office at Hazratganj was conducted on 11/10/2023 for the student who are either just graduated or perusing any occupation after 12th. The purpose of the visit was to provide the counselling guidance to the students who are thinking and are willing to go abroad for their further studies. The counsellors at IDP office firstly asked the student about what they have done till date and what they are panning further and accordingly they have provided us the valuable information which might help student in choosing the right direction and path for their higher education. It was overwhelming experience and each of the counsellors have given the best of their advices to the students and helped students in clearing their doubts regarding their future plans.





Annual Sports Day.


The Annual sports events commenced from 20th November,2023 and continued till 1st December, 2023. The sports events help students in learning life skills, teamwork, leadership, accountability, responsibility, patience, self-confidence and prepare them to face life challenges. Students also get a chance to work on their physical and mental abilities to achieve their goals in life. The students of Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies) participated enthusiastically in the sports event. It was a great opportunity for the students to rejuvenate themselves.










Workshop on CV Preparation & Softskill


Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies) organised a workshop on “C.V Preparation and Soft Skills” headed by Mr. Vipul Keshwani, counsellor- Australia, IDP Education Private Limited. The session commenced by a brief introduction about IDP by the key speaker, followed with the basic meaning of “resume”. Thereafter, he discussed with students regarding a journey from campus life to corporate life. He also briefed students on parameters of transition which includes- resume, cover letter, group discussion, personal interview and grooming. Thereafter, he discussed with students in detail about resume or curriculum vitae (CV).







Farm Visit and Craft activities


Isabella Thoburn College (Professional Studies) students visited to village “Rudahi” at BakshikaTalab,Lucknow on 5th oct.2019.It was an awesome experience in Clean air, clean water, innocent people, organic food and simple living is what defines rural India. Our appreciations and engagements ensure villagers practice pollution free practices and save the environment.
Our visit to the villages could provide a learning and informative experience to villagers too. They understand different segment & strata of people by filling Questionnaire about their needs and development. And when they engage them self in community driven education charity, they learn many things







Gandhi Global Solar Yatra


The Gandhi Global Solar Yatra holds immense relevance in the context of India’s commitment to sustainable development and clean energy.
